Sunflower

A truly beautiful bench which offers craftsmanship of the highest standard and ironwork of particular interest and detail.

The bench can be produced as a single, two or three seat version and finished to customer requirements.

Originally produced by the Falkirk Iron Company, the beauty of the bench belies its strength. The Sunflower has proved to be a popular choice with residents and visitors wherever it has been installed.

Whitworth

As restored and reproduced by Lost Art for the restoration project at the Joseph Whitworth Institute in Darley Dale, Derbyshire.

An excellent Victorian bench in the rustic tradition. Originally from the famous Coalbrookdale Foundry. Available as a two-seat bench using 2 ends or as a longer bench using multiple ends. Both this design and style of bench were popular choices for installation in Victorian parks and Lost Art have supplied these to a number of restoration and regeneration projects where historical accuracy has been an important consideration

Teesdale

As restored and reproduced by Lost Art for the restoration project at the Joseph Whitworth Institute in Darley Dale, Derbyshire.

A robust style of bench from the Victorian period, combining simple curving lines with elegance and solidity, making this a seat particularly suited to installation in public areas.

Lost Art Limited have supplied and installed Teesdales as memorial benches in a number of isolated and challenging locations, where its robust nature and low maintenance requirements make it an ideal choice.

Available as a 4’6” or 6’6” bench, with the addition of additional castings this can be extended to 8’ and beyond.

Squirrel

High Victorian design, featuring animals within a naturalistic setting. Cast ends with hand chamfered slats in oak.

Design registered in 1868 and produced by George Smith at the Sun Foundry, Glasgow.

Produced by Lost Art for a number of prestigious restoration projects, the length of the benches can be extended with the use of one or more additional decorative supports.

Rydal

Combining simplicity, elegance and durability, this Victorian design of bench offers an eye-pleasing, distinctive and robust alternative to more obvious choices for high volume areas such as town centres and busy parks. The nature of the casting allows us to produce this bench in any length from 4ft upwards, using additional supports according to the required specification.

Recrafted from a McLaren Foundry Design No.2 this rare design features particlarly detailed intricate scrollwork within the cast iron bench ends and a cast iron seat and back frames with timber slats hand sprung into position within the frame.

McLaren No1

A particularly rare design, recrafted from the McLaren Foundry Design No.1.

Features intricate scrollwork within the cast iron bench ends and a cast iron seat and back frames.

The timber slats are hand sprung into position within the channels of the frame.

Promenade

An ideal bench for use in locations that attract large numbers of people and high volume of use, a sea-front being an excellent example.

The Promenade features substantial shaped timber slats and cast iron bench ends. The addition of further cast bench supports allows for the construction of a longer than average bench – the examples shown are 14 feet in length.

We can produce this bench to almost any length that you require – short or long.

Smithills

An elegant yet durable bench based on an original 19th century design. This was originally a special commission for installation in a country park associated with a grade 1 listed historic property.

The bench features scrolled cast iron ends with slats in well seasoned timber incorporating a scalloped back.

Suitable for private and public areas.

This bench is available in a number of variations. The example shown here is a high back version with 3 supports and a scalloped back. We can also offer the same bench but with a straight top slat. Lower versions and shorter benches with 2 supports can also be produced see also our Lytham bench.

Langdale

Traditionally used in town centres, this cast iron and timber bench incorporates ends with a central aperture, allowing for the inclusion of crests, commemorative dates or plaques.

A robust style of bench, the usual well-seasoned timber slats can be replaced by steel sections for greater resistance to vandalism and abuse.

Falkirk Royal

The bench features a timber slatted back and seat, the cast end terminals with overscroll ends & supports & pierced with scrolling foliage, hung with tassels. Examples can be seen in London's Kensington Gardens.This the bench depicted in the scene in the cartoon version of 101 Dalmatians where the two human characters first meet. Coincidentally, the live action version of 101 Dalmatians was filmed in Battersea Park, where Lost Art provided the pattern for the cast benches & supplied the wrought iron and timber Cartmel Benches.
